Q: So uh, what's up with those Runes on your Signature?
If you mean to ask, "do I support the Alt-Right/Nazis because I use runic symbols," No. No I most definitely do not. I appreciate people being vigilant for dog whistles, but this isn't one and please don't insult me by insinuating that. The Nazis don't get to appropriate these symbols. Pagans deserve to reclaim and use them. To answer the nicer question: those are Elder Futhark Runes! I practice Divination through both Tarot and Rune Casting, so I wanted to pick Runes to symbolize "Grave Warden." From left to right: DAGAZ: The Day Rune. It represents Illumination, Completion, and Certainty, the cycle of the sun -- in rune divination it can mark an inevitability. Hence "Grave," in a poetic sense, as the completion of the life cycle. THURISAZ: The Thorn Rune, or rune of Giants. It represents Strength, Defense, Protection through Violence -- hence "Warden." |
